Question Bank

The Question Bank is a centralised repository for creating and managing questions that can be imported into quizzes and exams. Questions are organised using categories and tags.

Before adding questions: Set up your Question Categories and Question Tags first. By default, the category Difficulty Level with tags Easy, Medium, and Hard is included. To add your own, see Add Question Categories below.

Add Questions

  1. Go to EvaluationQuestion Bank.
  2. Click + Question and select a question type.
  3. Fill in the details and click Create.
Subjective questions – Allow Attachment: Enable Allow Attachment to let Trainees upload a file as part of their answer. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, PDF, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, DOC, DOCX. Max size: 10 MB. You can also make the attachment mandatory.

Import Questions in Bulk

  1. Go to EvaluationQuestion Bank and click Import Questions.
  2. Click Download Sample XLSX to get the required file format.
  3. Add your questions to the file, then click Browse, select the file, and click Import.

Add Question Categories

  1. Go to EvaluationQuestion Bank and click the Question Category tab.
  2. Click + Question Category, enter a name, and click Create.
Examples: Difficulty Level (Easy, Medium, Hard) · Department (HR, Finance, IT) · Topic (Safety, Compliance, Product Knowledge) · Skill (Communication, Leadership, Technical). Tags within each category allow further refinement – e.g. under Topic → Compliance, tags could be GDPR, Data Privacy, or Anti-Bribery.

Import Question Categories in Bulk

  1. Go to the Question Category tab and click Import Question Categories.
  2. Click Download Sample CSV, add your categories, then browse and import the file.

  1. Go to EvaluationQuestion Bank and click the Question Tags tab.
  2. Click + Question Tags, select the relevant category, enter the tag name, and click Create.

  1. Go to the Question Tags tab and click Import Question Tags.
  2. Click Download Sample CSV, add your tags, then browse and import the file.

  1. Open the relevant quiz in a course.
  2. Click + Add QuestionsImport from Question Bank.
  3. Select the questions and click Add Questions.

Add Questions from Question Bank to an Exam

  1. Go to EvaluationExam and open the relevant exam.
  2. Click Add Questions from Question Bank at the bottom of the page.
  3. Select the questions and click Add Questions.


The Question Bank in AlphaLearn LMS is a centralized repository where Administrators and Managers can create and manage questions for quizzes and exams. Questions can be categorized and tagged for better organization, and easily imported into quizzes and exams.

⚠ Before adding questions: Set up your Question Categories and Question Tags first – these help organize your questions effectively. By default, the category Difficulty Level with tags Easy, Medium, and Hard is included and ready to use. To add your own, see Add Question Categories Individually.

Add questions to the question bank individually:

  • Navigate to EvaluationQuestion Bank
  • Click + Question and select your Question Type
  • Fill in the details and click Create
📎 Subjective Questions – Allow Attachment: When adding a Subjective question, you can enable Allow Attachment so Trainees can upload a file as part of their answer.

  • Supported file types: PNG, JPG, PDF, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, DOC, DOCX
  • Max file size: 10 MB
  • You can also choose whether the attachment is mandatory

Import questions to the question bank in bulk:

  • Navigate to EvaluationQuestion Bank
  • Click Import Questions
  • Click Download Sample XLSX to get the required file format
  • Add your questions to the XLSX file and save it
  • Click Browse, select the file, and click Import

Add question categories individually:

  • Navigate to EvaluationQuestion Bank
  • Click the Question Category tab and click + Question Category
  • Enter a category name and click Create
💡 Category examples: Use categories to group questions by topic or type – for example: Difficulty Level (Easy, Medium, Hard), Department (HR, Finance, IT), Topic (Safety, Compliance, Product Knowledge), or Skill (Communication, Leadership, Technical). Tags within each category let you further refine – e.g. under Topic → Compliance, you could tag questions as GDPR, Data Privacy, or Anti-Bribery.

Add questions from the Question Bank to a Quiz:

  • Go to the relevant Quiz in a Course or Learning Object
  • Click + Add Questions and select Import from Question Bank
  • Select the relevant questions and click Add Questions

Add questions from the Question Bank to an Exam:

  • Navigate to EvaluationExam
  • Click the relevant Exam and at the bottom, click Add Questions from Question Bank
  • Select the relevant questions and click Add Questions
