Quick answers to common questions about AI-managed Skills in AlphaLearn LMS.

Why are the Skills tabs locked?

Choose your industry first, under Settings → Skills. It’s a one-time setup that unlocks the rest of the Skills tabs. See AI Recommended Skill Management.

Does AI skill generation use AI credits?

No. Generating role skills and tagging courses with AI does not use AI credits.

A role shows “Working…” for a long time. What should I do?

AI runs in the background, one item after another, so a large batch takes a while. If an item doesn’t finish, for example because of a network issue, it shows Failed and you can click Try again.

Why does a trainee not appear in the Skill Gap Heatmap?

The heatmap shows trainees whose role (Department and Designation) has confirmed skill requirements. By default it also hides skills and rows where no trainee has a level yet – choose Skills: All required to see them.

What is the difference between Required and Achieved?

Required is the level the trainee’s role needs (or the level set for that trainee only). Achieved is the level the trainee has reached, from a course, an assignment or an admin.

Can I change a trainee’s skill level?

Yes – use the pencil in Reports → Skills → Evaluations, or the trainee’s profile → Skills tab.

What does “Gap closed” mean in Skills Acquired?

It means the trainee’s new level reached the level their role needs.

I renamed a skill. Do I need to update courses and roles?

No. Renaming a skill updates every role, course and trainee that uses it automatically.

Does AlphaLearn support DPDP Act and ISO 27001 compliance for skills data?

Yes. AlphaLearn is ISO 27001:2022 certified and hosted in the AWS Mumbai region, and skill, evaluation and trainee data is handled under the same DPDP Act 2023-compliant controls as the rest of the LMS.
