Client
India’s largest integrated power company, operating across generation, transmission, and distribution. As part of its national skill development and CSR initiatives, the organization runs training institutes across the country with a mission to equip youth with employable skills in the power and allied sectors.
These institutes train students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, including candidates from disadvantaged and below-poverty-line (BPL) communities, with a strong emphasis on safety, operational readiness, and industry standards.
Challenge
The client’s biggest challenge was addressing the critical skill gap in the Indian power sector, while transitioning from traditional classroom training to online and mobile-based learning. Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) training was a top priority, as power-sector roles involve high-risk operational environments.
The organization wanted to expand access to technical and safety training for students in remote and underserved regions by enabling learning through mobile phones and low-bandwidth networks. Ensuring consistent training delivery without compromising safety standards was essential.
Another major challenge was managing a large volume of SCORM-based eLearning content that had already been developed. The client faced issues with content compatibility, learner progress tracking, completion visibility, and assessment reporting, making it difficult to measure training effectiveness at scale.

Solution
In December 2018, AlphaLearn provided the client with a SCORM-compliant, mobile-friendly AlphaLearn LMS, designed to support large-scale technical and safety training programs in the energy and power sector.
AlphaLearn LMS enabled the organization to deliver self-paced online skill development courses covering power sector fundamentals, electrical safety, equipment handling, and SHE protocols. The platform’s robust SCORM compatibility ensured seamless playback of existing content while enabling accurate tracking of learner progress, module completions, and assessment scores.
Through AlphaLearn’s mobile learning capabilities, underprivileged trainees could access courses anytime using smartphones, significantly improving reach in rural and semi-urban regions. The built-in certification engine automated certificate issuance once trainees achieved the required minimum score of 75%, reinforcing learning outcomes and compliance.
Result
After migrating to AlphaLearn LMS, the client received strong and consistent positive feedback from trainees, instructors, and institute administrators.
Course completion rates increased by nearly 40%, driven by mobile accessibility, clearer progress tracking, and the motivation provided by digital certifications. Trainees reported greater confidence in safety practices and core power-sector concepts, particularly in SHE-focused modules.
Operationally, the organization achieved an estimated 22% year-on-year reduction in training and administrative costs, by minimizing manual processes, reducing physical infrastructure dependency, and streamlining SCORM course delivery. AlphaLearn LMS also simplified onboarding for new trainees and instructors, improving overall program efficiency.
By enabling scalable, mobile-first, and safety-focused training, AlphaLearn LMS helped the client bridge skill gaps in the energy sector, expand access to employable skills for underserved communities, and build a sustainable, future-ready training ecosystem.
